Hey friends!

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted but I am in the middle of exams, and I'm sure you know how time consuming that can be.
But don't worry, I am going to try and post more regularly (I know I've only just started) so I can get more of you reading this!

If any of you do read this blog I would LOVE it if you could subscribe or whatever you do so I know someone, anyone, is reading! It would really motivate me to keep doing what I love, which is this.

So....as I promised, I have got a new and exciting band to introduce you all to. I have spent all day looking through my playlists of songs, thinking about which would be the best to talk about today. I know...bad idea...I should be revising right? Well...whatever, I'd rather do this.

Today is the turn of The Lone Bellow. This is a trio from Brooklyn USA, who are a mixture of folk, rock, with a pinch of gospel in there too. I absolutly love them if I'm honest! Their debut album has recently been released and I have purchased my copy this morning. It is hauntingly beautiful and the lyrics are just perfection. The story is that the lead singer and main song writer, Zack Williams, wrote the majority of these songs whilst waiting for the recovery of his paralysed wife! Some deep stuff I know. Don't worry, I hear she has since recovered, but not without allowing her husband to write some seriously gorgeous songs!

If you like harmonies as much as I do then you will fall in love with this band. I really hope they catch on as they truly deserve it. However, I would like to keep them to myself at this point!

Please let me know what you think of this band that I seem to be so obsessed with! Thanks!

Love you all,
Liv xx

Catch them while you can!

Hello friends,

So, I just thought I'd do a quick post in my break from revision (exams start in 2 weeks eek!)

This is my first proper post and I've decided to start as I mean to go on by telling you a bit about a band I've not-so-recently discovered.

The Staves

This group from Watford, London (where my lovely mum is from) are three singing sisters who are becoming more popular with every youtube view!

I have personally been a fan for about a year now, when nobody seemed to know them. I recently attempted to buy tickets to see them in Manchester but dissapointingly it was already sold out. So if you want to catch these girls with their amazingly beautiful harmonies, act soon!

Their style is hard to describe but wikipedia calls it - folk rock. I would probably hold off on the rock as much but listen for yourselves!

Their combination of voices is honestly, utterly breathtaking! If you like what you hear, be sure to check out some of their other songs. My personal favourite is - 'In the Long Run' so give that a listen.

So, I think that's enough of me telling you how much I love the Staves! If you like this kind of blog post please comment and let me know and I will do more. There are plenty more up and coming artists that I am very excited about so please tell me if you want to hear!

Love ya, Liv xx

Hello blogosphere!

Hello blogosphere!

So here is my first official blog on this brand new website. I really do not know where to start! I am very very very new to this so I apologise for the rambling mess that is about to begin.

I have wanted to create a blog like this for some time now and finally I just decided to take the plunge. In these posts I think I will mainly be talking about new (or maybe just new to me) musical artists or bands that I have descovered. I say ‘I think’ because I may end up going off on an occassional tangent and talking about something completely random!

Although not an aspiring musician, I have always loved and had a passion for lots of different musical genres and I can’t wait to share with whoever reads this who and what is exciting me at the moment.

So please read this, it would mean so much to me. I will be sure to reveal more about myself in future blogs but for now…just wait and see! More posts to come.

See ya, Liv x
